Our Heathland

Our Heathland

The chalk escarpments define the east of the National Park, but as you move west, the landscape changes.

Open hills give way to a beguiling network of ancient hedge-lined lanes, dense tracts of woodland, and heath.

Stretching between Petersfield and Storrington these heaths are among the rarest of all the habitats in the Downs, covering just one per cent.
