As of now, there isn’t a widely recognized, ready-made biodiversity footprint calculator for businesses outside of the development or agriculture sectors.

Most tools for biodiversity impact tend to be designed for developers, landowners, or organizations involved in land use and agriculture.

These tools focus on habitat loss, biodiversity net gain (BNG), and similar metrics specific to development projects.

That said, there are growing efforts in the corporate sustainability space to expand the scope of biodiversity measurement tools.

Some businesses, particularly those with strong ESG commitments, may use tailored solutions or frameworks to assess their biodiversity impact more broadly, but these are often industry-specific. We keep up to date with these emerging technologies such as the Science Based Targets Network and Biodiversity impact Assessment (BiA).
