Plumpton Neighbourhood Plan

Plumpton Parish Council are preparing a Neighbourhood Development Plan for Plumpton. Further details of the neighbourhood plan preparation are available at the Plumpton Parish Council website.

Plan ‘made’ (adopted)	The Plumpton NDP (Submission Plan incorporating the Examiner’s modifications and all modifications as per the SDNPA Decision Statement) complies with the legal requirements and basic conditions set out in the Localism Act 2011 and as a result of the Lewes and Eastbourne Council resolution on the 2nd May 2017 and the SDNPA Planning Committee resolution on 12 April 2018 has been made. Plumpton Neighbourhood Plan – Made Plan The Plumpton NDP is a part of the Development Plan of the SDNPA Local Planning Authority area as defined by the Neighbourhood Area Designation by the SDNPA on 28th April 2014. The made Plumpton NDP can be viewed at the following locations: South Downs Centre, North Street, Midhurst, GU29 9DH Lewes and Eastbourne District Council Southover House, Southover Road, Lewes BN7 1AB
Referendum	On Thursday 8 March 2018 there will be a Referendum on a neighbourhood development plan in the Plumpton Parish area. Decision on a Plan proposal	On 29 January 2018, Lewes District Council agreed the Decision Statement for the Plumpton NDP. This sets out the modifications that will be made to the plan in response to the Examiner’s modifications. Decision Statement The Plumpton NDP has been modified in accordance with the Decision Statement.
Independent Examination	Lewes District Council appointed Mr Nigel McGurk as the independent Examiner of the Plumpton NDP. The Examiner assessed whether the Plumpton NDP met certain legal requirements, known as the ‘basic conditions’ and considered representations made on the Plumpton NDP. Publicising a Plan Proposal	Lewes District Council and the SDNPA published the submitted Plumpton NDP for consultation from 5 October to 22 November 2017. Designated Neighbourhood Area	The SDNPA and Lewes District Council designated the area of Plumpton Neighbourhood Area within the South Downs National Park on 28 April 2014 following an application from Plumpton Parish Council Designated Neighbourhood Area
Consultation on the proposed Neighbourhood Area	A consultation on an application to designate Plumpton Neighbourhood Area was held from 28 February to 11 April 2014
