Petersfield Neighbourhood Plan
Petersfield Town Council (PTC) has prepared a Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) for Petersfield. The Petersfield NDP is part of the Development Plan for the town as defined by the Neighbourhood Area designated on 13 September 2012. The NDP can be viewed at:

| Minor (Non-Material) Modifications – September 2024 |
The Petersfield NDP was modified in September 2024. The minor modifications included corrections, clarifications, updated maps and references, and some changes to the supporting text in relation to superseded national and local planning policies. The modification statement was prepared by the SDNPA on 04 September 2024. The modification statement, along with the modified Petersfield NDP, was approved by the Petersfield Town Council Finance & General Purposes Committee on 19 September 2024. |
| Minor (Non-Material) Modifications – January 2018 | The Petersfield NDP was modified in January 2018 to correct an error in the designation of Local Green Space ref. G8 (Land either side of Borough Hill). |
| Plan “Made” (Adoption) | The Petersfield NDP – i.e., the Submission Plan incorporating the Examiner’s modifications and all other modifications as per the Decision Statement – complies with the legal requirements and basic conditions set out in the Localism Act 2011 and, as a result in the SDNPA resolution on 21 January 2016, has been made. |
| Referendum |
A referendum was held on the Petersfield NDP on 19 November 2015. Further information on the referendum is available on the East Hampshire District Council website. There was a 26% turnout, with the following results:

| Decision Statement | The SDNPA agreed the Decision Statement for the Petersfield NDP on 10 September 2015. This sets out the modifications that were made to the Petersfield NDP prior to referendum. |
| Independent Examination |
The SDNPA appointed Mr Christopher Lockhart-Mummery QC as the Independent Examiner of the Petersfield Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP). As part of the Examination, a public hearing was held, and a site visit took place, on 04 and 05 June 2015, respectively. The Examiner requested further information during the Examination. The Examiner issued their final report in July 2015. |
| Regulation 16 – Submission Consultation |
The SDNPA received the Submission Petersfield Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) on 18 January 2015. The SDNPA published the Submission Petersfield NDP for consultation between 05 February and 16 March 2015. The Submission Petersfield NDP is available below. Petersfield Town Council (PTC) carried out a pre-submission consultation on the Draft Petersfield Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) between 08 July and 02 September 2014.

| Designated Neighbourhood Area | A consultation on an application to designate the Petersfield Neighbourhood Area was carried out between 15 June to 03 August 2012. The SDNPA designated the Petersfield Neighbourhood Area on 13 September 2012.
