Ditchling, Westmeston & Streat Neighbourhood Plan
The Ditchling, Streat and Westmeston Parish Councils have prepared a Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) for Ditchling, Streat and Westmeston. Further details are available on the parish councils’ websites.

| Plan “Made” (Adopted) | The Ditchling, Streat and Westmeston NDP – i.e., the Submission Plan incorporating the Examiner’s modifications and all other modifications as per the Decision Statement – complies with the legal requirements and basic conditions set out in the Localism Act 2011 and, as a result on the SDNPA resolution on 10 May 2018 , has been made.
The Ditchling, Streat and Westmeston NDP is part of the Development Plan for the South Downs National Park area of the parishes as defined by the Neighbourhood Area designated on 16 January 2014. The Ditchling, Streat and Westmeston NDP can be viewed at the following locations:

| Referendum |
A referendum was held on the Ditchling, Streat and Westmeston NDP on 19 April 2018. Further information on the referendum is available on the Lewes District Council website. There was a 34% turnout, with the following results:

| Decision Statement | The SDNPA and Lewes District Council (LDC) agreed the Decision Statement for the Ditchling, Streat and Westmeston NDP on 07 February 2018. This sets out the modifications that were made to the Ditchling, Streat and Westmeston NDP prior to referendum. |
| Independent Examination |
The SDNPA and Lewes District Council (LDC) appointed Mr Christopher Lockhart-Mummery QC as the Independent Examiner of the Ditchling, Streat and Westmeston Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP). The Examiner requested further information during the Examination. The Examiner published their final report in January 2018. |
| Regulation 16 – Submission Consultation |
The SDNPA and Lewes District Council (LDC) published the Submission Ditchling, Streat and Westmeston Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) for consultation between 05 July and 28 August 2017. | Regulation 14 – Pre-Submission Consultations | The Ditchling, Streat and Westmeston Parish Councils carried out two pre-submission consultations on the Draft Ditchling, Streat and Westmeston Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) between 16 March and 26 April 2016, and between 07 December 2016 and 28 January 2017. |
| Designated Neighbourhood Area | A consultation on an application to designate the Ditchling Neighbourhood Area was carried out between 26 February and 09 April 2013. The Neighbourhood Area was later extended to include the parishes of Streat and Westmeston. The SDNPA designated the part of the Ditchling, Streat, Westmeston Neighbourhood Area that is within the National Park on 16 January 2014. |
