Water Cycle Study
To inform the Local Plan Review, a Water Cycle Study has been undertaken.
This study provides an assessment of the impact of the Local Plan Review development strategy on water infrastructure and the water environment.
A Stage 1 Report has been prepared which looks at water supply and identifies significant water stress in the area, noting that current Water Resource Management Plans are based on lower growth predictions than are coming forward in new and emerging Local Plans.
In terms of wastewater the report notes that 13 of the 45 wastewater treatment works are likely to be close to capacity during the plan period due to already committed development, excluding growth from future allocations and any planned upgrades.
Policy recommendations are included, which will be taken into account along with other representations made during the Regulation 18 consultation.
A Stage 2 Report will carry out a more detailed analysis of water supply and wastewater provision.
