Local Validation List
Following the adoption of the South Downs Local Plan and the subsequent revision of local validation requirements, all applications will be checked against the SDNPA Local Validation List. This list contains revised content necessary for legislative changes relating to Biodiversity Net Gain.
For the purposes of the Local Validation List the definition and criteria for major development is as set out in The Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (England) Order 2015.
Independent Viability Appraisals
The submission of a viability appraisal is required where an application seeks to depart from specified SDNPA policies. Submitted viability information will be assessed by the SDNPA who will seek the services of an independent assessor to give advice on viability where appropriate. In order that your viability appraisal can be assessed, you are required to complete our External Viability Appraisal Agreement form and commit to pay for the independent assessment of viability documentation.
