Lynchmere Heath Across the Ages Event
September 16, 2016
On Sunday 25 September join us on Lynchmere Heath from 10:00 to 17:00 for a free family event hosted by the Lynchmere Society in partnership with South Downs National Park Authority. Discover how our ancestors used our heathlands and what you can do to help preserve them.
Travel back in time with the ‘Heath across the ages’ re-enactment walk where you’ll come face to face with past characters of this landscape. Discover the creatures who call the heath their home with a natural history walk.
Visit the demonstration area to watch traditional heathland crafts including traditional pole lathe, charcoal and broomstick making. There’s even the chance to try your hand at have-a-go archery. Try out heather honey flavour ice cream courtesy of Dylan’s Ice Cream and wash it all down with some local Ballards Beer and cider from the Nyewood based brewery.
See you on the heath!
