South Downs Junior Rangers

South Downs Junior Rangers

South Downs Junior Rangers gives young people aged 14-16 opportunities to gain new skills, meet people in the conservation sector and take positive action for this precious landscape, whilst completing the volunteering hours needed for your Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.

How to get involved

Join us for three Sundays between October and December 2024 to complete vital conservation tasks in the South Downs National Park. These might include things such as scrub clearance, fence building and species monitoring. All tasks will take place in the park between Petersfield and Winchester and most tasks run between 10am-3pm.

Young people will need access to their own transport to get to and from site, with transport costs covered by the South Downs National Park.

In addition to this, we are asking our Junior Rangers to complete vital tasks on their own during one other weekend in the month. We shall teach you how and where to complete this task during your induction meeting on Thursday 3rd October, 4-6pm.

Next steps

We currently have 6 spaces available for October-December 2024. To apply for one of these spaces, please fill out the brief application form below. We shall be in touch by September 24th to let you know if you have been successful.
