Heritage Statements
When considering applications which affect Heritage Assets (which includes listed Buildings, Conservation Areas, Historic Parks and Gardens, Scheduled Monuments, and Historic Battlefields), applicants are expected to describe the significance of the heritage asset and the impact of their proposal on that significance.
The National Park Authority has written a guidance note to help with this task.
Heritage Statement Guidance Note
It is designed for use by householders, planning agents and architects, rather than conservation professionals, and has been written to be as clear as possible.
The Authority hopes that you find it useful. If you have any comments or suggestions for improvement, please send them to historicbuildings@southdowns.gov.uk
