The South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA) is an exciting, vibrant and respected Authority. It was created to care for the landscapes, wildlife and cultural heritage of the National Park and help people to enjoy and learn about the area. We also have an important role to enable the local communities that live and work here, including increasing supply and provision of much needed affordable homes. You would be working closely with the Director of Planning and colleagues within Planning and across the organisation, including other senior managers. You will provide the management of our devolved development management services being the interface between the SDNPA and our 4 host authority partners as we move to a more robust arrangement for. This will require tact and financial acumen.
You and your team will deal with some of the most challenging major planning projects within any National Park, requiring knowledge of Planning across Policy and Development Management.
You will also provide direction to a dedicated and professional team of generalists and specialists. You will guide the work and provision of timely replies from the technical specialist service for planning (Policy and Development management) and the wider organisation as it seeks to positively influence nature, climate, people and place.
