International recognition for Long Man Brewery
October 5, 2016
The Long Man Brewery, based in the Cuckmere Valley, have won four major awards at this year’s World Beer Awards.
With their name taking inspiration from the nearby Long Man of Wilmington, the brewery have a strong and passionate connection to the National Park. They also have a commitment to environmental sustainability and have shown that this can be achieved while making world class produce.
We are delighted to see more success for our local food and drink producers, many of which can be found on the South Downs Food portal.
The Long Man Best Bitter and American Pale Ale both won gold in their respective categories, with the Long Blonde and seasonal Old Man also achieving very creditable silver medals.
Jamie Simm, Head Brewer said:
“We are immeasurably proud of the four awards we have achieved at this year’s World Beer Awards and it’s a great reward for the hard work that the production team put into creating consistently good beer. We’re not trying to re-invent the wheel when it comes to brewing, we are simply trying to create quality beers that we and other people like to drink.”
