Tuck in to British Food Fortnight in the South Downs

Tuck in to British Food Fortnight in the South Downs

September 18, 2015

Discover the flavour of the South Downs with competitions and special offers to mark British Food Fortnight from 19 September to 4 October.

Tying in with the harvest festival, British Food Fortnight is the biggest annual, national celebration of our country’s food and drink. It’s a chance for farmers, producers and sellers to shout about the delicious food and drink they produce and for us to show them our support by tucking in to it.

From artisan cheese, wild venison, micro-breweries and some of the best sparkling wines in the world, we believe that the South Downs should be recognized for high-quality, sustainable food almost as much as its spectacular beauty and tranquil spaces. SouthDownsFood.org is the place to discover local food and drink from in and around the National Park. It includes hundreds of local food and farm shops, restaurants, pubs and cafés, vineyards, breweries and food producers who sell directly to the public.

To mark British Food Fortnight, SouthDownsFood.org are running competitions, activities and special offers throughout the two weeks:

  • Have a go at making your own cheese with 20% off a Cheese Makers Choice kit;
  • Win a behind-the-scenes tour of Chalder Farm and take home some award-winning Caroline’s Dairy ice-cream; and
  • Win a visit to Langham Brewery and six bottles of Cowdray Ale.
