Get back to nature
September 21, 2016
Tony has been travelling around France and England barefoot to connect with nature, setting himself the challenge to live without money.
For the past few nights Tony has slept under cedar and oak trees, below the dark skies of the South Downs National Park. His night was filled with the sounds of birds, deer and he claims he heard the much rumoured wild boar.
Tony has hiked around the South Downs barefoot, to connect with nature and people, visiting Chithurst monastery and exploring the small villages of the National Park. His experience has left him content, happy and he no longer fears life without money.
While extreme, Tony is an example of how being around green spaces and wildlife can refresh your mind and well-being. Time out in nature helps to reduce stress, boost confidence, improve your mood and increase your energy levels.
This weekend, leave technology behind and get out into the South Downs. Bare feet optional.
Sussex based charity Grow runs free nature connection courses for people who are looking for ways to improve their mental and physical wellbeing. Grow offers you the chance to enjoy a wide range of optional activities in a friendly group such as guided nature walks, conservation tasks, green woodworking, wild food foraging, creative sessions and shepherding.
