Twinkle, Twinkle
15 February 2025
18.00 to 19.30
Every child knows the nursery rhyme Twinkle Twinkle Little Star but how many have actually been out at night to look at them?
Why not introduce your child/ren to night walking this February with this short, 2 mile, flat walk to the former Iron Age fort at Old Winchester Hill.
With its 360 degree views its offers the complete night sky experience. To the south man’s influence on the night sky will be clearly visible, while to the north they will experience the beautiful dark sky of the South Downs National Park.
This walk is part of SDNP’s Dark Skies Festival and will be a slow walk connecting children to the night and sky above through all their senses.
If the weather allows there will be time to identify some key constellations/asterisms. No dogs on this walk, thank you
