Near to Nature’ mini quilt Exhibition and Sale

In March 2019 the Near to Nature mini quilt competition was launched locally to raise money for the RSPB. The challenge was to make a mini quilt measuring 9 x 11 inches, featuring an RSPB pin badge. Over 600 entries were received from all over the UK and even from overseas, including as far away as Australia! Unique and imaginative designs were produced based on the pin badge entrants were given. This exhibition, open daily, comprises of nearly two hundred of these amazing pieces of artwork. Every quilt tells a story, while collectively they showcase the talents of so many creative individuals and highlight the array of stunning wildlife the UK has to offer. A ‘Near to Nature’ Book containing images of the wonderful range of styles and techniques used will also be available to buy for £5.00 and each book sale will include a quilt of your choice from those on display. 10am – 4pm daily. HOW TO GET HERE By train The nearest train station is Chichester, 5.5 miles away. There is a taxi rank outside Chichester station - ask to be taken to Pagham Harbour Visitor Centre, Selsey Road, Sidlesham. To cycle from the station, turn south over the level crossing down Stockbridge Road for approximately 100m then turn left into Canal Basin. Immediately to the right is the canal path which is the start of Route 88, currently ending at the Visitor Centre. By bus, The 51 Link service from Chichester Bus Station to Selsey stops outside the Visitor Centre. The bus station is 2 minutes’ walk from the train station. The journey takes 20 minutes. By bike By bike Route 88 from Chichester Canal Basin to the Visitor Centre. Medmerry Cycle Link connects RSPB Medmerry with RSPB Pagham Harbour.
