Go Sloe
22 September 2024
10.00 to 14.00
Autumn is the time to go foraging for nuts and berries. One particular berry that, when steeped in gin, makes a beautifully colourful addition to your array of drinks at Christmas, is the sloe.
It is the fruit of blackthorn which, with its incredibly sharp thorns, doesn’t give up its treasure freely. However, we will endeavour to carefully collect enough on this walk for you to make at least one small bottle of ruby red sloe gin.
Hopefully, our wet summer will make the fruits particularly plump this year. If so, we’ll need to hope that we get to them before the birds! Distance: 7 miles, mostly flat Well behaved dogs on leads allowed
