Feeling Firbulous
18 January 2025
10.00 to 13.30
Feel firbulous after this 6.5 mile walk through the pine woods of Durford, Rogate & Fyning Commons!
This is the first of a series of tree themed walks for 2025. It celebrates the colour that can be found in our coniferous, plantation woodlands, at a time of year when many of our trees are looking bare and skeletal.
Did you also know that evergreen trees give off more beneficial phytoncides than deciduous trees, phytoncides being the natural chemicals linked to improving the function of our immune system.
Their aroma is that immediately recognisable pine smell. This walk is therefore one for your nose to enjoy just as much as your feet, eyes and mind.
To complete the sensory experience, the walk starts and finishes at the Jolly Drover pub. Rather diplomatically this sits right on the border between Hampshire and West Sussex.
