Reducing heat use in your home

Making our homes more energy efficient is one the most effective ways to save carbon and reduce your household energy bills.

CommuniHeat was a small partnership project in the Sussex village of Barcombe. The partnership brought together Ovesco, Community Energy South, BruroHappold and UK Power Networks to move the village from heating their homes with fossil fuels to electricity through community-owned renewable energy.

An outcome of the project was the Home Action Plan.

The Home Action Plan provides households with practical steps to save energy through reducing their energy use, insulating homes, switching to low-carbon energy sources and coming together with others to own your own energy.
