Access and Rights of Way Annual Review
July 13, 2015
Access to the countryside in the South Downs National Park is mainly via the rights of way network – 3,300km of public footpaths, bridleways, restricted byways and byways. It also includes areas of accessible woodland, Country Parks and nature reserves. Open Access Land on our heaths and downland allows the public to wander freely.
The Access and Rights of Way Annual Review 2014/15 summarises the work carried out by the Local Highway Authorities in managing the rights of way and the work of the South Downs National Park Authority on Open Access Land. It also summarises partnership work to bring about improvements to the access network.
