Talk: The Life and Death of Stars
20 February 2025
19.00 to 20.00
How do stars form?
Do they live forever?
If not, why?
This talk covers how stars are formed, how long they live, what happens to them during their life, and why and how they die.
This is simply explained in relation to what we can see in or near the constellation of Orion, a pattern of stars that many people can recognise in the winter months.
The talk is given by Steve Broadbent BSc FRAS of Hampshire Astronomical Group. Steve has given hundreds of talks at public events and to astronomical societies.
He is also resident tutor on the Hampshire Astronomical Group “Astronomy for Beginners” course which runs twice a year at Clanfield Observatory.
