This walk combines the Western Weald with my Dutch roots π π³π± How you wonder? Well, there will be the usual offering of gentle Downland scenery, but with a windmill for a touch of the near continent. As the title suggests, clogs are an entirely optional extraβ¦.but perhaps a health and safety hazard! This walk largely follows ridge lines that offer some terrific views from many points along the route, as well as a glimpse of ancient history. We will pass above and walk through Butser Ancient Farm, so will have a birds eye view of the fabulous old buildings they have reconstructed from excavation evidence. If you havenβt visited, do add it to your list of local βthings to doβ. As an open-air, experimental archeology museum it is quite unique in the UK.
