Rottingdean Neighbourhood Plan
Rottingdean Parish Council (RPC) has prepared a Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) for Rottingdean. Further details are available on the Rottingdean Parish Council website

| Plan “Made” (Adopted) | The Rottingdean NDP – i.e., the Submission Plan incorporating the Examiner’s modifications and all other modifications as per the Decision Statement – complies with the legal requirements and basic conditions set out in the Localism Act 2011 and, as a result on the SDNPA resolution on 14 March 2024, has been made.
The Rottingdean NDP is part of the Development Plan for the South Downs National Park area of the parish as defined by the Neighbourhood Area designated on 14 March 2023. The Rottingdean NDP can be viewed at the following locations:

| Referendum |
A referendum was held on the Rottingdean NDP on 09 February 2024. Further information on the referendum is available on the Brighton and Hove City Council website. There was a 20.94% turnout, with the following results:

| Decision Statement | Brighton & Hove City Council (BHCC) agreed the Decision Statement for the Rottingdean NDP on 14 December 2023. This sets out the modifications that were made to the Rottingdean NDP prior to referendum. |
| Independent Examination | Brighton & Hove City Council (BHCC) appointed Mr Derek Stebbing as the Independent Examiner of the Rottingdean Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP). The Examiner published their final report in October 2023. |
| Regulation 16 – Submission Consultation | Brighton & Hove City Council (BHCC) published the Submission Rottingdean Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) for consultation between 02 February and 16 March 2023. The Submission Rottingdean NDP is available below and its evidence base and submission documents are available on the Brighton and Hove City Council website. |
| Regulation 14 – Pre-Submission Consultation | Rottingdean Parish Council (RPC) carried out a pre-submission consultation on the Draft Rottingdean Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) between 14 February and 09 April 2021. |
| Designated Neighbourhood Area | A consultation on an application to designate the Rottingdean Neighbourhood Area was carried out between 22 November 2012 and 21 January 2013. The SDNPA designated the part of the Rottingdean Neighbourhood Area that is within the National Park on 14 March 2013. |
