Henfield Neighbourhood Plan

Henfield Parish Council (HPC) has prepared a Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) for Henfield. Further details are available on the Henfield Parish Council website.

NDP 2 – Henfield NDP (Made)	The Henfield NDP – i.e., the Submission Plan incorporating the Examiner’s modifications and all other modifications as per the Decision Statement – complies with the legal requirements and basic conditions set out in the Localism Act 2011 and, as a result on the SDNPA resolution on 10 June 2021, has been made. Made Henfield NDP. The Henfield NDP is part of the Development Plan for the South Downs National Park area of the parish as defined by the Neighbourhood Area designated on 10 December 2013. The Henfield NDP can be viewed at the following locations: South Downs Centre, North Street, Midhurst, West Sussex, GU29 9DH. Horsham District Council, Parkside, Chart Way, Horsham, West Sussex, RH12 1RL. A summary of the Henfield NDP preparations is available below and all other information can be found on the Horsham District Council website. A referendum was held on 06 May 2021 with 90.53% of the turnout voting “yes”. Horsham District Council agreed the Decision Statement in June 2020. The Examiner’s Final Report was published in May 2020. Horsham District Council appointed Mr Andrew Ashcroft as Independent Examiner. Horsham District Council published the Submission Henfield NDP for consultation between 08 November and 19 December 2019. Henfield Parish Council (HPC) carried out a pre-submission consultation on the Draft Henfield NDP between 07 June and 26 July 2019.
NDP 1 – Henfield NDP (Quashed)	Horsham District Council (HDC) “made” the Henfield NDP in Spring 2016. However, the case for a judicial review of the Henfield NDP was heard in the High Court on 04 October 2016. The judgement to quash the NDP was delivered on 13 October 2016. Prior to the High Court judgement, the following stages had been completed: A referendum was held on 12 April 2016, with 94.3% of the turnout voting “yes”. Horsham District Council agreed the Decision Statement. The Examiners Final Report was published in February 2016. Horsham District Council published the Submission Henfield NDP for consultation between 30 March and 11 May 2015, and 09 October and 20 November 2015. Henfield Parish Council (HPC) carried out a pre-submission consultation on the Draft Henfield NDP between 05 December and 23 January 2015.
Designated Neighbourhood Area	A consultation on an application to designate the Henfield Neighbourhood Area was carried out between 09 September and 21 October 2013.
