Hamsey Neighbourhood Plan

Hamsey Parish Council (HPC) has prepared a Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) for Hamsey. Further details are available on the Hamsey Parish Council website.

Plan “Made” (Adopted)	The Hamsey NDP – i.e., the Submission Plan incorporating the Examiner’s modifications and all other modifications as per the Decision Statement – complies with the legal requirements and basic conditions set out in the Localism Act 2011 and, as a result on the SDNPA resolution on 14 July 2016, has been made. Made Hamsey NDP The Hamsey NDP is part of the Development Plan for the South Downs National Park area of the parish as defined by the Neighbourhood Area designated on 13 September 2012. The Hamsey NDP can be viewed at the following locations: South Downs Centre, North Street, Midhurst, West Sussex, GU29 9DH. Lewes District Council, Southover House, Southover Road, Lewes, BN7 1AB.
Referendum	A referendum was held on the Hamsey NDP on 02 June 2016. Further information on the referendum is available on the Lewes District Council website. There was a 28% turnout, with the following results: Yes = 90.2% (120 votes) No = 9.8% (13 votes)
Decision Statement	Lewes District Council (LDC) agreed the Decision Statement for the Hamsey NDP on 14 April 2016. This sets out the modifications that were made to the Hamsey NDP prior to referendum. Decision Statement
Independent Examination	Lewes District Council (LDC) appointed Mr John Parmiter as the Independent Examiner of the Hamsey Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP). The Examiner published their final report in January 2016. Examiner’s Final Report
Regulation 16 – Submission Consultation	Lewes District Council (LDC) published the Submission Hamsey Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) for consultation between 29 September and 10 November 2015. The Submission Hamsey NDP and its evidence base and submission documents are available on the Lewes District Council website.
Regulation 14 – Pre-Submission Consultations	Hamsey Parish Council (HPC) carried out a pre-submission consultation on the Draft Hamsey Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) from 24 November 2014 for 6 weeks.
Designated Neighbourhood Area	The SDNPA designated the part of the Hamsey Neighbourhood Area that is within the National Park on 13 September 2012 following an application from Hamsey Parish Council. Designated Neighbourhood Area
